We had the pleasure of doing a total nut & bolt restoration of Andy’s MGB MK1 roadster. From a bare shell to an exciting recreation of the MGB Works cars of the 60’s.
The car was stripped to a bare shell & sent off to Norm Baxter for numerous rust & accident rectification work. Resprayed in Flame red with Sebring front & rear valances.
Richard rebuilt the engine using an aluminium cylinder head, forged pistons, billet rods & reworked crankshaft. Fast road cam, Weber 45DCOE carby & extractors with sports exhaust fabricated by Richard, added to the vast array of features complimenting the looks & performance.
We fitted the first of our Vitesse Mazda 5 speed gearbox kits that made the car a delight to drive. Monitor 15″ alloy wheels complimented the Works appearance. The suspension was upgraded with uprated lowered front & rear springs and heavier front sway bar.
The interior was retrimmed & fitted with more comfortable seats. A new soft top finished it off, with a factory hardtop currently being restored, to make the final Works appearance complete.
We tested the Works on the Dyno to a healthy 110 BHP at the wheels & tune to make it very lively but traffic friendly.
The finalised the job was handed over to a very happy customer & even happier Peninsula Sports Car Services staff.
